Finley's Bar and Grill and Kootenay Blues Society will present a fundraiser for Andromeda Drake on Friday, June 13.
Drake was seriously injured in a car accident and is now convalescing in Nelson. She has been unable to work for the past few months, so the event is being organized to help her financially and to show our appreciation of her unwavering fondness for live music in the Kootenays.
Drake is a staunch supporter of music events in the community and is there at every Kootenay Blues Society show and Finley's After Work Dance Party, dancing up a storm, freely giving hugs to everybody and just generally being the sweet person she is. We wish her a speedy recovery and it will be great to see her out on the dance floor again soon.
The show will start at 7 p.m. with an opening set by Mr. A.
Local dance favourites Baker Street Blues will take the stage at 7:30 with their house-rockin' blues that will grab hold of you and not let go.
Admission is by donation and we encourage you to give freely to help a friend in need. It will be best to reserve a spot and come early, as we anticipate a large turnout. Phone 250-352-5121 to reserve.
