The Terry Fox Run Nelson will take place on September 16, and participants are gearing up to raise money for cancer research and help keep Terry Fox’s dream alive.

Runners, walkers and riders should gather at the Lakeside Park flagpole starting at at 8:30 for a warm-up at 9:20 led by Puleng Pratt. The run begins at 9:30, with official starter two-year-old Hailey Hauck.

The event is sponsored by Kootenay Rhythm Dragons, featuring Mayor Kozak, with speaker Sheila Hart.

Thirty-eight years after Terry Fox was forced to end his Marathon of Hope, citizens still respond to his Terry Fox Run legacy in a way that is truly Canadian, by coming together in over 700 small villages and big cities, raising money without incentive or profile.

Terry Fox had a single dream: a world without cancer. From coast to coast we will be celebrating the power of the human spirit as we work together to outrun cancer. For event details or more information, visit terryfox.org.
