HUGS AND SLUGS: Keep your Styrofoam out of the lake

Styrofoam is used in the construction of docks

HUGS: To Columbia Basin Alliance for Literacy at the mall and Leon at Shaw. Their great consideration, patience and instruction helped an old lady solve a Wi-Fi problem. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

SLUGS: To the people who vandalized Kokanee Park by removing signs, not cleaning up after their pets and to the people having huge fires on the beach!

SLUGS: To all the people on the lake who have Styrofoam blocks in the construction of their docks. Take a walk on the beaches and look down at the millions and millions of tiny pieces everywhere. Truly an environmental problem. Time to make a change!

HUGS: Big hugs to the two angels who found my lost drivers licence at Kokanee Park and drove to my residence to return it. So grateful! You get back what you give out in this world. May you receive the same kindness ten-fold.

HUGS: To the hard-working owner of the Cell Phone Hub in the mall. He provided excellent service to help me with my broken phone as promptly as possible with many options including loaning me parts. He is a kind and genuine person and a wonderful asset to our community!

HUGS: To all who are displaying our Canadian flag. It is a heartening message to see, as we face aggressive and unprovoked threats to our economy, and our sovereignty.

SLUGS: To the people who think Nelson’s city streets are their personal vehicle storage facility. Storing your vehicles on the street for days and weeks at a time leaves them in the way of others who use street parking and services like snow removal and street sweeping. Let’s extend the slugs to people who needlessly park in no parking areas, loading zones, handicapped spots, grocery pickup stalls and at bagged meters.
