A few days ago, Ryan Oakley vowed to take somebody random out to lunch if his popular Facebook page Humans of Nelson reached 5,000 likes.
So when that number was surpassed, Oakley did what he does best, and tracked down a stranger to hang out with. It turned out to be Nathanael Cavazzi, 31, who had already eaten but happily accepted a small dessert and a beer.
"I saw him and I was thinking maybe I'd ask him for a cigarette, but this is even better," said Cavazzi.
As of Wednesday afternoon Oakley had exceeded his goal by nearly a hundred. That means approximately half the population of Nelson is now following his exploits.
