There will be two information sessions about the proposed active transportation pathway that would link Castlegar to Nelson for commuting and recreation purposes.

The West Kootenay Cycling Coalition has received a $50,000 grant to conduct a feasibility study for the project. We will be conducting a series of public engagements with residents living along the corridor. We want resident feedback! View the proposed route, learn about our vision, offer ideas, and complete a survey.

Session 1: Nelson Visitor Centre, Oct. 7, 5:30 to 7 p.m.

Session 2: The Dam, Oct. 11, 6. to 8 p.m.

Active transportation is using your own power to get from one place to another such as walking, cycling, or roller blading.

This pathway is part of a larger vision that encompasses the development of a multi-modal transportation network to include a range of affordable, low carbon transit options including bicycles, buses, passenger rail and car share. This network would feature transit hubs, rest areas and other amenities making travel comfortable and accessible without a private vehicle by residents living in communities along these routes.
