The Kalein Centre is exploring the themes of social isolation and loneliness through the CLICK project (representing the sound of a camera shutter releasing) to highlight these important issues within our community, especially in times of pandemic.
CLICK works with local photographer Ursula Heller to share experiences of loneliness and isolation through black and white photography. Heller made profound connections with individuals willing to share their stories with us, including individuals with disabilities, those experiencing emotional loneliness, people experiencing grief and loss, individuals approaching the end of life, and those affected by the pandemic – all of whom have experienced feelings of being socially disconnected.
Documenting the diversity of people’s life experiences through photography can transform how we see the world, especially in times of global pandemic. Please join us at the Kalein Centre November 15 at 402 West Richards St. between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. for a free open house. Social distance regulations will be managed by the Kalein Centre board and staff.
The exhibit will be up until Nov. 30 at the Kalein Centre, 402 West Richards St. The CLICK project is funded by the Columbia Basin Trust and New Horizons for Seniors.
