We are thrilled to announce that Kootenai Moon and customers came together to celebrate over 25 years in business by raising a significant contribution to the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House. Kootenai Moon has been a steadfast supporter of the transition house for over 20 years through the annual Anonymous Angel Tree initiative.

Aimee Beaulieu Transition House, a program of Nelson Community Services, provides emergency safe shelter and support for self-identifying women and children fleeing domestic violence and abuse. For two decades, Kootenai Moon has collected toys, food, clothing, cash, and gift cards during the Christmas season in co-operation with the management and staff of the transition house, all to support women and children in the program to make their stay more comfortable. It has been heart warming to witness the generosity of our customers, residents, visitors and family members who have come into the store to support this remarkable cause.

In continuation of this tradition and commemoration of over 25 years in business, Kootenai Moon launched a $25 coupon book with discounts for our store. We are proud to announce that we sold 200 books for a total $5,000 donation that will directly benefit the essential services provided by the transition house.

The funds raised will support women and children who may need to relocate for safety reasons or require assistance in starting fresh within the community. Every donation ensures that women fleeing domestic violence are supported in a fulsome way.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who have contributed to this cause. Your generosity and support make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need. Together, we can create positive change and build a stronger, more compassionate community.

A special thank you to Anna Maskerine, Milena Bieri and the staff who have worked with us over the years for allowing us to do what we can to support their community work.

In gratitude, Val Semeniuk and the team at Kootenai Moon.
