Kootenay Pride is thrilled to be coming back in 2023 to the streets, flag poles, museums, parks, coffee shops, and plazas in a big way for another fully in-person event.

The dedicated team of busy volunteers has started working on the upcoming year with no shortage of ideas for events for the whole family as well as some adults only.

The pride crew is hoping to be able to offer the community more events throughout the year leading up to the long weekend in August, when historically the West Kootenays has held the big Pride celebrations, events, and socials including the parade. This expanded offering of events depends on volunteer capacity. If you are curious about how you can help please join them.

“We are looking forward to working together to create a bevy of events that have something for everyone, from games nights, archive workshops, and dance parties. Pride 2023 hopes to have it all. Come join the fun,” said co-ordinator Michael Wicks.

Kootenay Pride is always looking to add more folks to the fun and games. If you’re interested, watch our social media for the next meeting date and time or reach out to

The team of volunteers is looking forward to seeing the community come out to support their 2SLGBTQ+ neighbours. Love wins.
