Graduates of LVR’s 1960, 1961, and 1962 classes gather together this weekend to celebrate their eighth class reunion.

Committee organizers are calling this “The Last Hurrah” as they prepare for more than 100 classmates and their partners to participate in a dinner together and a picnic at Lakeside Park. Members of the Reunion Committee have been planning reunions since 1976 when their first gathering of the 1960, 61, and 62 LVR grads took place.

Some classmates travel many miles to attend. This weekend classmates from Ontario, Alberta, the U.S., and all across B.C. will join their friends who have never left Nelson or who have returned to Nelson for their retirement years.

Of course there will be laughter and tears as classmates share memories from the past and catch up on the 60-plus years since graduation. Our biggest task has been to track down classmates who have downsized, moved, and changed telephone numbers and addresses. We do everything we can to find them, contacting friends and relatives in our search. We know this will be a special reunion!

Some of our classmates have never missed even one of the eight reunions we have held while others have married fellow classmates and are still together after all these years. We have so much to celebrate!
