The L.V. Rogers Secondary’s Class of 2018 is less than a month away from their graduation weekend celebration, but as the high school seniors get set for their monumental moment they will share an eclectic night of talent with the community who helped foster their passions.

The annual LVR Grad Talent Show will take the stage at Nelson’s Capitol Theatre on Tuesday, May 29 with 20 different pieces featuring a wide range of skills. The show will feature singing, dance, skipping, comedy, theatre, video production, jazz and blues in a two-hour event that is sure to impress.

“It’s a great way to showcase our class and the talents people have been developing over the years in the arts,” says Tristen Schuh, one of the student organizers of the event.

The talent show is a local grad tradition that has been helping raise money for the weekend festivities that will take place this year on June 15 and 16. The weekend includes the Friday night cap-and-gown ceremony at the Nelson & District Community Complex followed by a busy Saturday that features the Grand March at the Complex, the Cavalcade through Nelson’s downtown and the prom at the Prestige Lakeside Resort.

The LVR Grad Talent Show starts at 7 p.m. on May 29 with tickets available at the door for $15 (adults) and $12 (students).
