Nelson Lions Club is hosting the Lions Foundation of Canada Walk for Dog Guides this Saturday. Registration starts at 9 a.m. at the gazebo near the Prestige Lakeside Resort. The walk begins at 10 a.m.

One hundred per cent of funds raised are used to provide dog guides for people with disabilities. The Lions Foundation trains and provides dogs at no charge to assist people with vision and hearing loss, seizure response, special skills and autism.

People of all ages and fitness levels, with or without a dog, are welcome to participate in the walk. Participants have a chance to win some great prizes. The Lions Club will provide all participants with a free hot dog lunch from 11 a.m. until noon.

There is no registration fee, and pledge sheets are available from Nelson vet clinics, Nelson Farmers Supply, Central Bark and Nelson Lions Club members.

Gather up a few donations from friends then come and join us for a morning of fun while you exercise your pooch or go for your morning walk.
