The semi-annual Nelson Game Jam is back and ready to bring together local game developers for an exciting weekend of creativity and collaboration.
Taking place from Friday, Jan. 24 at 5 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 26 at 5 p.m., this event promises to be bigger and better than ever.
For the first time in the Kootenays, the event has been timed to align with the worldwide Global Game Jam. Participants will be using the same mystery game theme as the rest of the world and will be making games at the same time.
Hosted at the Nelson Innovation Centre, located at 91-D Baker St. (at the old rail station), the Game Jam invites developers, designers, and creatives of all skill levels to participate in this fast-paced, 48-hour game development challenge. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to game development, there’s a place for everyone in this inclusive and supportive environment.
Participants can secure their spot for just $20 by sending an e-transfer to ola.rogula@gmail.com. One hundred per cent of the registration fee goes towards providing snacks for attendees, with the Kootenay Association for Science and Technology (KAST) matching the contributions.
Whether you’re a first-time game maker or an experienced developer, the Nelson Game Jam is the perfect opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, learn new skills, and create something amazing in just 48 hours. Don’t miss out – register now!
