Founded in Kelowna in 2015 as a grassroots organization to connect moms and share resources through a Facebook page, Mamas for Mamas has grown into a registered non-profit organization and has encouraged the expansion of over 50 other chapters across Canada.

Mamas for Mamas offers poverty relief and mental health services to mothers, caregivers and their children, experiencing varying levels of poverty.

Mamas for Mamas West Kootenay chapter is delighted to have organized the Help A Mama This Christmas fundraiser. The goal was to help four or five families in the West Kootenay with items needed to prepare for the Christmas holidays, including grocery store gift cards, important family needs and gifts. Due to the overwhelming support of the generous community, the organization will be giving 18 families a hand up this holiday season.

The group’s goal is to help families in need within our community by identifying missing systems and/or resources — bridging the gap so no family is left behind.
