You'll never hear 'Don't touch!' and 'Shhh!' at Museum Mash!
People of all ages are invited to explore the museum in new ways — fostering creativity, making memories, and building a lifelong love for museums and galleries. Sing! Dance! Colour on the walls! Is that a giant cardboard fort? Yes!
On Sunday, Oct. 6 at 10 a.m. the doors of 502 Vernon St. are flung open and free activities are offered throughout the day until 3 pm. Drumming, cardboard forts, and giant Jenga will entertain younger children while older artists get creative with printmaking and papercrafts. Designed with kids in mind, Museum Mash is a beloved semi-annual event that encourages families to explore the museum in unique ways.
"Museum Mash is one of our most cherished programs because it creates an environment where children can truly be themselves,” says Nelson Museum public program co-ordinator Stephanie Myers. “It demonstrates that museums and galleries are not merely quiet spaces, but vibrant settings for learning, exploration, and enjoyment."
