The Nelson Air Cadets ended their mostly virtual 2020-21 training year with an in-person rocketry day. The cadets built their rockets on their own and then met at the West Kootenay Model Club airfield near the Kootenay Canal to launch them.

After the rockets were fired off, the cadets received promotions and recognition for completing their training level.

Nelson Air Cadets will start their 2021-2021 training on Sept. 10. More information can be found at www.nelsonaircadets.ca, on the squadron’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/561NelsonOspreyAirCadets/ or by calling Major DeBiasio at 250-231-0710.

The squadron always welcomes new cadets who are between the ages of 12 and 18.

Adults who would like to volunteer with squadron are also welcome.
