Two of Nelson CARES programs, Custom Fit Employment Services and Services for Community Living Residential Services, usually hold an annual holiday luncheon and dance party for the folks they provide services to.
But this year the pandemic and its restrictions prevented an in-person event, so the team at Nelson CARES figured out a COVID safe way to celebrate together and benefit a local business.
The Adventure Hotel provided 80 delicious turkey dinners with a few gluten free and vegan dinners too! They were delivered by CFIT staff to each of the group residences and individual homes. The evening capped off with a Zoom dance party hosted by CFIT and DJ Lucas Popoff.
Much appreciation to Rob and the team at the Adventure Hotel for all the work to make this a memorable event. We had great feedback from our residents and clients on the food and the NCARES staff that made this all possible.
