Each year the Nelson Italian-Canadian Society identifies local causes to assist with financial donations. The Nelson Community Food Centre is one such group the society supports.

The society are pleased make a $2,000 donation to the Nelson Community Food Centre, who provide support for those in our community dealing with food insecurity.

Over the past five years the Italian-Canadian Society has hosted a variety of fundraising events that revolve around the production and sale of Italian food. Additionally, the society has also continued to provide winemakers in the Kootenays access to wine grapes and juice from California.

The success of the fundraising efforts, which go to support local charities, is the result of the efforts of society volunteers and the support of the community who purchase the foodstuffs produced.

The society plans to continue its fundraising efforts in the year ahead and extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported its cause.
