Nelson Learning in Retirement resumes weekly Friday sessions and courses starting with a Meet and Greet program for all past and new members on September 7 at 10 a.m. in Room 16 on the Selkirk College Silver King campus.
Members of the 2018/19 board will be introduced. Instructors of 32 courses being offered this fall, in collaboration with Selkirk College Community Education, will talk about everything from astrology, humour, history, finances, the game of bridge, health, pickleball and snooker, to singing, painting, book binding, stretching, traveling and writing.
At the end of term last spring Learning in Retirement had 352 members. This year will mark the 10th anniversary celebration of the founding of the group by four dedicated and passionate elders wanting to ensure the life long learning of seniors and the recognition of their value to this community.
