The Nelson Lions will pick up your Christmas trees on Jan. 4.

The Nelson Lions are sorry to announce that it’s the end of the holidays, and it’s time for us to pick up your Christmas trees. Where did the year go?

On Saturday, Jan. 4, from 9 a.m. to noon, volunteers will roam through Nelson picking up your previously loved and gently used Christmas trees to save you some time and heartache on its final farewell.

This is one of our long-running fundraisers, and as always all monies raised are redistributed back to our community.

We request a minimum donation of $5 per tree, cash or cheques to Nelson Lions Club. Please leave it in a ziplock bag attached to the tree, in your mailbox or at your front door, or contact us via our website nelsonlions.ca to send an eTransfer beforehand. Please include your home address.

Please have your tree(s) out and visible on your front curb (no back laneways please!) before 9 a.m. or our scouting crew might miss you.

Don't forget to tell your neighbours and friends! We are hoping this year to break a record in the number of trees collected. We roam throughout the city limits, so contact us if you have any special requests.

Visit us at nelsonlions.ca for additional information, updates on our events, to apply for this year’s scholarships, or to join the club and serve your community. We are an inclusive club, meeting for two hours on the first Tuesday of each month. Come as a guest and see what we are all about!
