Chief Paul Burkart of the Nelson Police Department will be pushed off a dock into Kootenay Lake on March 6.

Joining him in this celebration of his retirement will be Nelson’s fire chief Len MacCharles and chief Deb Morris from BC Ambulance Services.

The three will be pushed (virtually) off the dock by Payton Birk, an eight-year-old local ambassador for BC Special Olympics, to which the proceeds will be contributed.

Please donate to the team site, Cold in the Koots, at BC Special Olympics Freezin’ for a Reason Campaign at https://secure.e2rm.com/p2p/fundraising/349555/team/937988

The event will be live streamed due to COVID-19.
