Two years ago Gypsy got a second chance at life when she was adopted by a Nelson family. Now she’s ready to earn her keep as a therapy dog for seniors.
“She’s really sweet and all she wants is love,” said owner Jolene Raggett, who put her canine progeny through St. John’s Ambulance training after rescuing her through the Kootenay Animal Assistance Program.
“Because she’s doesn’t jump up and she’s really calm I thought she’d be a great therapy dog.”
So pretty soon she’ll be visiting places like Mountain Lakes to see if she can brighten somebody’s day.
“We’ll be going in and visiting with the people there, she’ll be cuddling and keeping them company.”
That’s something Raggett imagines she would enjoy if she was in the same place.
“Our kids are so excited for Gypsy to go out and meet everybody. She’s a great dog.”
