Discover Circus, Nelson’s inclusive home for circus and movement arts, is preparing for an exciting new chapter.

After a long and challenging search for a suitable space, the organization is relocating to a larger, safer, and more accessible facility this fall. The move will allow Discover Circus to expand its programming, welcome more participants of all ages, and continue building a vibrant, creative community in the heart of Nelson.

To support this transition, the Kootenay Circus Arts Association has launched a campaign it calls "New Space. Same Spirit." The campaign aims to raise $80,000 to help cover the cost of renovations, equipment, and set-up for the new space.

“This is more than just a physical move,” says Jake Jacobs, also known as Jake TheLady, executive director of Discover Circus. “It’s the next step in growing a space that truly reflects the spirit of our community. We’re asking those who believe in what we do to help make this possible.”

The campaign invites support from individuals, families, and local businesses who want to see accessible, community-led arts thrive. Contributions will directly support the new location and help ensure a smooth transition ahead of the fall season. A community celebration and gala is planned for November to thank supporters and mark this exciting milestone.
