The Nelson Star is proud to host the 2022 Citizen of the Year award.
Since 1964, the honour has been awarded to Nelson residents who have given back to our city in ways big and small. Former winners have spent years contributing to a variety local causes including entertainment, sports, social justice and health care.
Last year’s winner Pat Dooley is a prolific volunteer whose resume includes Nelson and Area Friends of the Family, the Rotary Club and Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation.
If you know someone deserves the spotlight for their volunteer service to the community, nominate them before March 5. To enter your submission, visit the Contests page at nelsonstar.com or visit https://westkootenay.secondstreetapp.com/Citizen-of-the-Year-2023-2/gallery.
Star staff vote on the winner, who will be announced March 16.
