Nelson’s Ostomy Support Group invites all folks, and their caregivers if they choose, who have colostomy, ileostomy or urostomy, or are scheduled as an ostomy patient, to participate in our peer group of ostomates that meets once monthly.

There is no denying that ostomy surgery is a life-changing event. We are a volunteer group helping folks of all ages, assisting them to live their lives to the fullest, providing support, enhancing understanding and sharing info that is not otherwise provided. We also try to provide avenues of financial assistance that are available, from purchasing ostomy supplies, various providers, and services outside the provincial Medical Services Plan.

Our local chapter is named Nelson’s Ostomy Support Group and meets on the fourth Thursday of every month, 10:30 a.m. at the Gordon Road Wellness Centre. We gather in the Broader Horizon room, using the rear entrance.

All ostomates are welcome to attend. For more information, reach us at 250-352-5620 or 250-551-4532.
