Perogies and Borsch Add Flavour to Friends

A huge thank you from Nelson’s Friends of the Family goes out to Ruby Verigin (right), owner of Verna’s Country Kitchen, sister Zoyia Burgoyne (left), and Cottonwood Market manager Paul Hinrichs who donated space and homemade borsch and perogies which were sold at the market late last month. One hundred per cent of the proceeds were donated to the local charity. Watch for upcoming Friends of the Family fundraisers scheduled for July 15 and 16 (hot dog and borsch sale) at Nelson Walmart and July 29 (borsch and perogy sale) at Market Fest on Baker Street.
