The Nelson Road Kings annual car show attracted hundreds of people to Baker Street on Saturday.

The show was an enthusiastic celebration of vintage cars and a vibrant social event.

According to Road Kings president Marcello Piro, the event had 402 registrations and people came as far away as Saskatchewan, Vancouver Island and Washington.

“We could not have asked for better weather and amazing participation from everyone,” he said. “The Road Kings thank the people of Nelson for supporting our show as it brings back memories to so many people and provides a huge financial boost to our businesses.”

The Best in Show award was given to a 1930 Ford Model A owned by Richard and Jacquie Tapp of Grand Forks.

“It took seven years to build and all the body and paint was done by the owner,” said Piro. “It’s an absolute piece of artwork.”
