PHOTOS: Local Indigenous cultures celebrated at Capitol Theatre

The fifth annual event featured plenty of song and dances

First Nations and Metis performers took the Capitol Theatre stage Friday for the fifth annual Indigenous Culture Celebration.

The event was a collaboration between the theatre, Sinixt Nation, Ktunaxa Nation, Nelson and Area Metis Association and School District 8. It featured music, dancing, speeches and an excerpt of a project by Mount Sentinel Secondary Students.
