Kale hats and flower skirts were in high fashion Monday as Nelson residents gathered to celebrate Earth Day.
The day, which has been observed annually since 1970 and was founded by then-U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson, is meant to shine a light on environmental issues and solutions.
Monday’s event featured information booths set up at Hall Street Plaza, examples of Parachutes for the Planet laid out on IODE Park and a parade through downtown.
