Members of the Kootenay Quilters’ Guild Day Group are shown with some of the quilts that they made this Christmas season for the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House. The local women’s shelter is a program of the Nelson Community Services Centre. The quilts are given to children who arrive under less than festive circumstances. The quilts feature panels with winter themes such as snowmen instead of holiday themes. They are hand or machine-quilted using the quilters’ own designs. The project has been running for three years.
