UPDATED: School District 8 fetes retiring staff

Small ceremonies were held to send off the district’s best

Retiring teachers and staff were celebrated by School District 8 on Tuesday.

LVR teacher Robyn Sheppard, Hume School teacher Lisa Backus, bus driver Ray Wicklum, LVR clerical staff Susan Lakeman, Brent Kennedy Elementary clerical Betty Vnoucek and SD8 director of operations Bruce MacLean were feted at a small ceremony at L.V. Rogers.

In Kaslo, Jewett School custodian Valerie Smith, J.V. Humphries teacher Debbie Ellard and JVH custodian Kendall Cooper are retiring.

Also retiring are LVR teacher Sheri Morrison, Crawford Bay School custodian Darlene Cook, former Mount Sentinel Secondary principal Glen Campbell, international department clerical Michele LeLievre and trades worker Kent Smith.
