Nelson businesses have stepped up big to support an important East Shore fundraising event with generous donations to a silent auction to support the Crawford Bay Community Hall rejuvenation and preservation project.

The online event runs live on Facebook from Nov. 5 to 9 and features more than 100 bid lots. Bidding begins at 9 a.m., Nov. 5 and ends at 9 p.m., Nov. 9, East Shore time. Items can be viewed prior to the auction on Facebook at the address @crawfordbayhall.

Donations include passes to swim, ski, hike and golf; goodies for your ride, home and yard; gift certificates to improve health and wellness; gear for the great outdoors and lots of items perfect for Christmas gift giving.

“The response from Nelson and throughout the region has been amazing,” said fundraising committee chair Leona Keraiff.

“It’s a big, expensive project but it’s going to be worth it. Nelsonites seem to love visiting the East Shore to recreate and to see our artisan shops. A beautifully restored community hall that can accommodate weddings and reunions will add to that draw.”
