Slava Doval’s Dance Fusion to perform first event since 2019

Shows are at the Capitol Theatre on April 29, 30, and May 1

Submitted by Slava Doval’s Dance Fusion

April 2019 was the last time Slava Doval’s Dance Fusion welcomed the public to the Capitol Theatre to watch dancers of all ages perform.

Since that time, like so many local small businesses, the school has faced many adversities. In 2020 the lockdowns began about three weeks before showtime – costumes were ready, the moves were rehearsed, and yet the dancers were isolated at home.

The studio pivoted, and created the ninth annual showcase via a series of videos featuring dancers in their homes via Zoom. Then as April 2021 drew near, it was clear dancers still could not take to the stage, and another online showcase was created.

Fast forward to this month and in anticipation of the 11th Annual Dance Fusion Showcase, dancers have been rehearsing in the beautiful new studio located at 601 Vernon St.

Please come support the arts and celebrate these dancers and the joy of performance. There are young children, youth, and adults taking to the stage to perform hip-hop, contemporary, jazz, ballet and acro, plus the annual highlight of Dads Dance.

There are four performances to choose from, with opening night on International Dance Day. Showtimes are Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m., April 30 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and May 1 at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Capitol Theatre box office, 250-352-6363 or https://capitoltheatre.ca/.
