At the Road Kings car show in Nelson last weekend, area resident Josh Smienk drew curious crowds with his restored steam engine and steam boiler. It was originally used in Sandon to supply power to a local mine. “I like to show people their history,” Smienk says. “People love it. And the kids really enjoy it, they just eat it up.”
