Steelworker seeks Nelson signatures calling for inquiry

Steelworker calls for enquiry into the explosions at the Lakeland and Babine sawmills.

Adam Connell of the United Steelworkers (left) recently passed through Nelson seeking signatures for a petition calling on government to hold a public inquiry into the 2012 explosions of the Babine and Lakeland sawmills that killed four workers and injured more than 40. Here, Ray Keen, business manager for IBEW Local 1003 in Nelson adds his name. Connell says he’s looking for 10,000 signatures. It’s available online at inquiry-usw.nationbuilder.com.
