This month the Rotary Club of Nelson Daybreak and the City of Nelson hosted a public information open house to talk about a planned parks improvement project and distribute surveys on the Rosemont Multigenerational Park project.

Dozens of community members attended and approximately 200 completed surveys have already been received, both online and hard copy. The survey closes Friday at 11 a.m.

Once the survey closes, the feasibility for the development will be determined based on community feedback received, current community needs and funding. A phased approach will be considered to ensure all development is sustainable.

Daybreak Rotary have applied for the Aviva Community Grant, which provides funding for community projects. The online voting for this grant began this week and the public are able to vote up to 10 times at avivacommunityfund.org.

Randy Horswill of Nelson Home Building Centre attended the open house and donated $2,000 towards the project.
