The Capitol is thrilled to announce the return of its popular Homegrown performances, an initiative introduced in 2021 when there was limited access to live performances and out of a desire to present local artistic excellence. This new iteration underscores the continued desire within the community to celebrate our region’s artists in all live performing arts genres.

The Capitol invites applications from both emerging and professional artists within the Kootenay region. Four groups or individuals will be chosen to showcase their talents in this curated series. Artists from every genre are invited to apply by filling out a Google form through our social media links. The deadline for submissions is April 30.

“We are immensely excited to bring back the Homegrown performances, providing a platform for our talented local artists to shine on the Capitol stage,” says executive director Stephanie Fischer.

“This series not only highlights the incredible artistic diversity within our region but also reinforces our commitment to supporting and nurturing emerging talent.”
