Get ready to experience an unforgettable weekend of world class entertainment that features some of the best burlesque, drag and variety performers from across the globe as Vesper Valentine presents the fourth annual Kootenay Burlesque Festival, June 23 and 24 at the Capitol Theatre.
The Kootenay Burlesque Festival is a celebration of all things burlesque. It’s a lavish weekend affair that features some of the top talents in the burlesque and variety industry to create two extravagant nights of entertainment.
This year’s headliners include Miss Poison Ivory, the 2016 Miss Exotic World, Queen of Burlesque from the Burlesque Hall of Fame, Mena Domina from New Mexico and local Salmo performer Backdoor Breena. There are over 50 different artists from across the globe who have come together to create two sizzling and seductive showcases for an exceptional weekend of entertainment.
Friday, June 23: The Dirty and Nerdy Show, 8 p.m.
Are you ready to get naughty and nerdy with us? This showcase will make you feel the heat while we bring out your inner geek with an evening of all things dark, dirty and nerdy.
Saturday, June 24: The Sparkle and Sass Soirée, 8 p.m.
Come to the cabaret and enjoy an evening of live performances with an international cast of burlesque, drag, vocal and variety artists.
The festival also offers educational workshops that are taught by professional touring artists that are aimed at further promoting and advancing burlesque as an art form in the community. All classes are open to the general public and no experience is necessary to join. Classes are being held at Intuit Movement Studio on Saturday, June 24 from noon to 4 pm.
