Nelson classical pianist and author Daryl Verville will perform July 24 at the Nelson United Church.

Verville, who was recently profiled by the Nelson Star, will play a variety of compositions by musicians including Beethoven and Franz Liszt.

Copies of Verville’s memoir Epistles to the Pope: A personal history of perilous priestcraft, an inter-generational survivor’s story that doubles as an indictment of the Roman Catholic Church and its residential school system, will also be available for purchase and signing.

His memoir became the inspiration for Verville to create an original piece, Epistles to the Pope - A.P.H.P.P, based on his memoir.

Verville will be joined by esteemed pianist Paul Dykstra. This inter-arts media event will include select readings from his book with alternate scenes of piano performance.

The show begins at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are $20, or $15 for students and seniors, and are available at the door.

Verville will also perform July 31 in Kelowna at St. Michael’s Cathedral.
