Established in Nelson since 2007, Brigitte Desbois never tires of the endless inspiration the area has to offer.
She will hold an opening reception for her new show at the Dancing Bear Inn on Baker Street on September 1 from 6 to 9 p.m.
Being an avid plein-air painter, Desbois finds it incredible just having it all at her doorstep.
“I love the challenge of capturing the light and the mood and I search for colour harmonies that evoke the time and place,” she says.
“I yearn to open up to the world and capture a breath of a moment, a shimmer, a perfume. I yearn that my pulse beats with the rhythm of the wind and to release it all with a sigh of the brush.”
