The Nelson Leafs snapped a seven-game slide with a 4-3 win against the Heat in Chase on Friday.

Leighton Partington, Quinn Ramsay, Rylan Konecsni and Kieran Christanson each scored for Nelson (14-21-2), which led 4-1 after two periods. Goaltender Dylan Spackman got the start and made 26 saves.

Haden Heide stopped 40 shots in net for the Heat (11-20-3), with goals from Markus Thompson, Jack Smith and Jalen Davidson.

Nelson had a rougher outing one night later in Kamloops.

The Storm scored four unanswered goals en route to a 7-2 win over the Leafs.

Caden Still and Ramsay had the only goals for Nelson, with Spackman returning to net and allowing all seven goals on 36 shots.

Noah Paulsen, Luca D'Amore, Carson Reagan, Brandon Burns, Kyle Sanford, Wyatt Olson and Braycen Dube each scored for the Storm (19-16-1), while goalie Dawson Holitzki made 33 saves.

The Leafs also announced Monday they have hired a new general manager.

Dale Hladun has joined the club after previously serving as coach and general manager in the KIJHL with the Princeton Posse, Fernie Ghostriders and 100 Mile House Wranglers. He also had a brief two-game stint this season with the Quesnel River Rush.

Hladun work with head coach Gianni Mangone, who was promoted from assistant after the team let go head coach and GM Briar McNaney in December.

Nelson next returns home for a busy three-games-in-three-days set. The Leafs host the Kelowna Chiefs on Friday, followed by a Saturday date against the Spokane Braves and a Sunday matinee against the Castlegar Rebels.
