Local athletes finished first place in four events at the 13th annual SMITH Junior Freeride Open hosted by Whitewater Ski Resort on Saturday and Sunday.
Whitewater's Trace Crowe won the under-12 boys ski event, Joshua Imada took the U19 men's snowboard title, Freya Keyserlingk captured the U19 women's ski category and Benson Hulbert was first in U19 men's ski.
The competition featured athletes from across B.C., Alberta and the Pacific Northwest. Freeride athletes are judged on the lines they take down a pre-determined runs as well as on style and creativity.
