Tools, equipment stolen from Midway fibre mill

Theft reported from Vaagen Fiber Canada mill site

Midway RCMP are investigating a break, enter and theft from a now closed fibre mill in Midway.

The theft was reported on June 11 to Midway RCMP, stated a news release. The initial investigation, which included viewing surveillance footage, showed three men driving a Ford F-350 entered the Vaagen Fibre Canada mill property during the early morning hours of the same day, with the suspects breaking into several areas in the mill and stealing tools and equipment. The estimated value of the stolen items is $50,000, the release stated.

The vehicle description is a white, long-box truck with B.C. licence plate SV7254.

Video surveillance footage is also being released. RCMP are asking anyone who has information on the suspects, vehicle, stolen items, to contact the Midway RCMP (250) 449-2244, or Crime Stoppers 1 (800) 222-8477.
