Wow, we residents of Fairview are so happy for the Nelson tennis club and the school district. I’d just like to thank everybody for this great addition to our neighbourhood.

So, thanks for the extra pollution from all the construction, and thanks for all the extra car and diesel pollution too. No, really, I think brown air is tasty. I’m also sure that everybody coming to Fairview to play, or just smoke a little, will be driving the posted speed limit, and actually stopping at stop signs, just like they do now. So there’s no need to worry about being run over by a speed demon while walking around.

Oh, and special thanks to the school board for letting us know that you were thinking of giving us such a special gift. No welcome necessary, just like no input from the community was necessary.

Thanks for taking my money and spending it on games instead of education. After all, SD8 is doing such a stellar job at educating their students, so nothing to be concerned about there.

I also meant to thank the tennis club too. Instead of spending their own money on what they want, using taxpayers’ money is so much better for you, not me. But thanks.

Oops, almost forgot one more thing to be thankful for; fall elections. Yes, really thankful for that one.

Mark Brillum,

Nelson
