Taghum Hall offers a series of fall events that are all about celebrating creativity, one another, and perhaps making the world a little smaller.

On Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m., Brian denHertog and Jill Russell bring their soulful folk music to the Taghum Hall stage. DenHertog’s songs are rooted in the acoustic elements of folk, blues and country. Russell is a flautist and multi-instrumentalist, and a member of the Brazilian jazz band Corcovado. Together, this husband-and-wife team offers a beautiful musical evening, with tickets available online at www.taghumhall.ca or at the door.

Outside, Inside: Creative Voices of New Canadians is a free B.C. Culture Days event at Taghum Hall on Friday, Oct. 11. All are welcome to enjoy a multicultural evening featuring foods and performances in a showcase of music, dance, and more with roots in Argentina, Ukraine, India, France, Korea, Nigeria, and Scotland. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Taghum Hall’s annual Harvest Festival happens Sunday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy live music in the gazebo, kids’ activities, fun competitions, delicious food, and more than 40 vendors offering home-grown or home-made delights. Admission is by donation.

The annual general meeting of the Taghum Community Society, which oversees Taghum Hall, happens Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m. Members and interested members of the public are invited to attend the meeting — and there will be cheesecake! Memberships may be purchased for $2 at the meeting.

There’s a workshop happening Nov. 2 and 9 from 9 a.m. to noon at Taghum Hall led by an artist who really knows her way around a sewing machine. At Christmas Crafts with Bernadette LaBrie, participants will create beautiful table and tree decorations in plenty of time for the holidays. Some basic sewing experience is all that’s needed; materials are provided. Register for one or both sessions at www.taghumhall.ca.

There are always good things happening at Taghum Hall, with www.taghumhall.ca the place to go for information, tickets, or to sign up for the monthly newsletter and keep on top of all the goings-on at this area’s busiest community hall.
