A Nelson man accused of setting three fires in the city last month is now facing additional charges.
David Travis is charged with three counts of arson related to what police allege were deliberately set fires on July 24. The Nelson Police Department also announced Wednesday another charge of break and entering had been approved by prosecutors.
Travis was previously facing just one count of arson. His next court appearance is Aug. 14.
Nelson police previously said the fires Travis allegedly set were in Gyro Park near the playground and at a wooded area on the south side of the rail tracks near Chahko Mika Mall. The department did not respond to a request by the Nelson Star for the location of the third fire.
