The Ursa Project and the City of Nelson have collaborated to do a bulk buy of bear-resistant garbage bins. Now is your chance to get one, at bulk plus municipal cost.

These bins are certified bear-resistant by the Interagency Grizzly Bear Committee. There are two sizes available: 64 gallons ($426.71) or 96 gallons ($434.31). A 50 per cent deposit is required to order a bin, payable to the City of Nelson, with the balance due upon pickup or before delivery. Prices include taxes and shipping.

To order a bin, or for more information, please email theursaprojectnelson@gmail.com.

The Ursa Project, founded in 2022, is a registered non-profit society located in Nelson, BC. The organization focuses on fostering harmony between humans and bears by actively promoting responsible coexistence, achieved through advocacy, outreach, and education.
