Nelson police say a man has been charged after allegedly attacking a person with a machete.
Mikhail Reid, who lives in Nelson, has been charged with assault with a weapon according to an update released Jan. 29 by the Nelson Police Department.
Reid allegedly chased another man on Jan. 21 and struck the victim on the hand with the blade. The victim was hospitalized with what police said was a serious injury.
He was arrested the same day and later released from custody with conditions following a bail hearing.
Police said they are still investigating the incident, but both men were known to each other and there is no risk to the public at this time.
