The capacity at the Nelson and District Community Complex is 1,500 and Nelson Leafs president John Dooley is hoping the arena is full Friday night.

“Come on out and support the boys. This is a huge game,” said Dooley, referring to Game 6 of the third round playoff series between the Leafs and the Kimberley Dynamiters.

“It’s good entertainment. Let’s fill the arena,” said Dooley, adding the team hasn’t gone this far in the playoffs for “quite a few years.”

“They have had a really good run this March. They deserve to get the support from everyone in Nelson,” he added.

The Leafs and Dynamiters were tied in the best-of-seven series at two games apiece going into Thursday’s Game 5 in Kimberley and results were not available for the Star’s print deadline. Check nelsonstar.com for results.

Finley’s Bar and Grill on Vernon Street showed Game 5 on TV sets in the bar on Thursday night, said Dooley.

Friday’s game at NDCC starts at 7 p.m. and tickets are on sale before the game at Baker Street Menswear and at the arena ticket booth an hour before the game. Prices are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.

The Leafs also posted on their Facebook page “Over 1500 fans showed up to cheer them on the first two games. See if we can hit 1000 on Friday alone.”
