Nelson Skating Club wins 3 medals at host West Kootenay Invitational

The Nelson Skating Club hosted the West Kootenay Invitational on Dec. 8 to 10 with 36 entries of our own and plenty of medals.

Anastasia Verigin won a gold in Star 5 with 15.17 points, while Jen McNutt finished first in the Gold category with 32.46 points.

Kailee Stewart was first in the Juvenile competitive level with 28.43 points and a perfect skate. Aili Brackett meanwhile followed in second at 22.88 points for a personal best.

Milo Jarvis also garnered a bronze medal in Star 6 men’s with 17.74 points.

Nearly all the skaters earned medals in their events and most had personal best scores. The complete results can be found at the following link https://www.skatinginbc.com/events/2023-west-kootenay-invitational-competition.

This was the first competition for many leading into the coming months that will be quite busy with competitions in the region.
