Nelson native Kelly Hellman finished sixth among women at the Vancouver Triathlon's sprint event Sept. 2.
Competing in her first triathlon, Hellman's time was one hour 15 minutes 16 seconds, or 4:53 behind the winner. She was also the top finisher among women in the 25-29 age category.
Hellman, 25, is a student at the University of British Columbia and graduate of L.V. Rogers.
